Glen Kernan Golf & Country Club is undergoing a comprehensive $32.8 million transformation that repositions the club as one of Florida’s premier private golf and lifestyle communities. Now 20 months into the redevelopment, the reimagined campus features a fully modernized 22,568-square-foot clubhouse with a hotel-lobby ambiance, upgraded locker rooms, a new pro shop, and a redesigned restaurant and bar serving a 100-seat dining room with two outdoor patios totaling 3,000 square feet and 78 seats. The golf course, originally 6,900 yards, has been extended to over 7,300 yards with six redesigned holes, the addition of “Cam Tees” named after investor and Open Champion Cameron Smith, and a dual-zone driving range. The club also added five short-game practice greens directly off the dining patio, illuminated by 1,500-watt lights to encourage evening play and socializing. Beyond the course, a full suite of family-focused amenities includes a lap pool, eight clay tennis courts, four pickleball courts, a basketball court, and a multipurpose field. A focus on sustainability has reduced irrigated acreage from 160 to 122 acres, with 44 acres re-landscaped with native plants, pine straw beds, and over 130 newly planted trees. Membership is capped at 250 and includes professional athletes, entrepreneurs, and community leaders — many of whom maintain multiple club affiliations nationwide. The club is managed by a top-tier team including former TPC Sawgrass GM Bill Hughes and PGA short-game specialist Ramon Bescansa.
