Springfield Preservation and Revitalization Board Votes to Unanimously Support Corner Lot’s 1st and Main Development

After a thorough review and a significant amount of collaboration, the Springfield Preservation and Revitalization (SPAR) Board voted unanimously to support Corner Lot’s new 1st and Main multi-family development this week.

“We respect the time and commitment SPAR dedicates to Springfield and enjoyed working with the staff and board on 1st and Main.” said Andy Allen, Corner Lot CEO. “We’re excited to be a part of this historic neighborhood’s revitalization and look forward to the residents of 1st and Main shopping, dining, and enjoying all that Springfield has to offer.”

Located at 1100 North Main Street, the 1st and Main project will occupy a parcel between 1st Street and 2nd Street at an intersection widely considered to be the gateway to Springfield. The new development will surround a circa 1928 art deco structure that was originally home to Jacksonville’s first Chevrolet dealership. Once complete, the mixed-use urban development will include 201 market-rate studio, one bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments and more than 6,000 square feet of commercial space to accommodate retail or restaurant tenants.

In addition, the project will include a fully-screened parking garage, a resort-style pool, a court yard, and multiple amenity spaces. The transited-oriented development is also located on Jacksonville’s much-anticipated Emerald Trail and in close proximity to Klutho Park. The development is scheduled to break ground in Winter 2023 and be complete in winter of 2024.
